Second Chance for Me is a team of Behavioral Health, Healthcare and Addiction Specialists. We work in partnership with our clients to develop treatment plans, provide care from drugs and alcohol, as well as outpatient treatment.
Our Mission: Giving hope to men and women suffering from drug and alcohol addiction; by providing our patients with the support, education and resourceful tools they need to help aid in recovery and a healthy lifestyle.
Director: Dennis is a 25-year recovering addict who struggled to break the drug addiction cycle. After almost losing everything for the sake of the drugs; family, career, home, etc. Finally, in 1994, after his mother telling him he MUST call and not just “pop up” from now on before showing up to the family home, he made the decision to fight for his life, and his Family; and became clean & sober.
Dennis was born and raised in Los Angeles, California in the 60’s. During his adolescent years, Dennis was very involved in sports; track being his specialty. With a promising future ahead of him; his focus on athletics allowed him to avoid the pull of drug use and gang banging, which was prevalent in his neighborhood. During the off season, the pull of temptation of the drugs was too strong, thus began his addiction to drugs and dealing drugs.
Dennis joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 18, and this did NOT stop his drug use. In fact, during his 12 years in the Navy; he was not only an addict, but also a drug dealer. Spending time in the Brigg and eventually was kicked out.
He went through the ups and downs of drug life before he went to the VA hospital Drug and Alcohol program for recovery. It was here at The VA Medical Center-Loma Linda where he changed his life around & realized his purpose.
